SanMichele ai Pianoni is a "boutique winery" located in Oltrepò Pavese (Lombardy) on the 45° Parallel North, an area particularly vocated to Pinot Noir.  The winery is focused on producing high quality wines that express both the passion of the winemaker for excellence and the unique character of the terroir.

All the wines are crafted from grapes grown within the estate, combining a century-long family tradition with up-to-date technology. The greatest care is given to the vineyards with heavy pruning and low yields.  Chemical treatments are banned, in compliance with the restrictive protocols negotiated with the regional Authorities.  

The estate is renowned for its elegant Pinot Noir, for the generous Rosso Riserva, aged in French oak barriques for 24 months, and for the Passito, made from ultra-ripe Muscat grapes. All the wines, including Pinot Noir, Bonarda, Barbera and Riesling comply with the DOC and IGT regulations.  Recent awards received include international recognition by "Decanter" and "The Drinks Business".
